Join our youth group as we come together to pray and worship together in the presence of our Lord in the Holy Eucharist. There will be time for quiet prayer as well as prayerful music as we spend time with our Lord. This Holy Hour is open to all parishioners and their families and friends. Come out and join us!! STM Youth Group is held every Wednesday in Room 5 and is open to any of our parish youth from grades 7-12. Hope to see you there!!

Giving Tree

OUR GIVING TREE HAS ARRIVED! As the Holy Father has said - we should share with those less fortunate. This year we have several charities. Josephine’s Place is run by the Sisters of Charity and helps women and their families become independent. The Interfaith Hospitality Network of Essex County assists the homeless. Essex Regional Educational Service Commission provides education to those who need extra help. St. Peters Orphanage is a residential treatment facility which provides a homelike atmosphere for adolescent boys whose parents cannot care for them. Perpetual Help Day Nursery is run by Catholic Charities and provides early childhood care, education and nutritious meals for residential and day school for boys with disabilities.

Starting this weekend, PLEASE remember to take a tag or tags off the tree. Purchase the $15-$25 gift, wrap it securely, attach the tag and return under the tree by Dec. 13th at the latest.

Thank you for purchasing the gift on your tags. You will make someone happy this Christmas.

Advent Book Club

Life is hectic, especially around the holidays, so take some time for yourself and join your friends in a four week Advent Book Club. We will be reading The Joy of the Gospel by Pope Francis.

Groups will meet at various times and places to make participation easier and fun. One group will meet on Tuesdays at 10 AM in the Mary Room led by Joan Danner on Nov. 10, 24, Dec. 1,15. Another group will meet at Hollywood Pizza on Fairfield Road on Friday nights at 7PM starting Nov. 27, and the last group will meet on Sunday mornings from 8:45AM-9:45AM beginning Sunday, Nov. 29 in the Mary Room for parents who drop their children off at CCD and for anyone else who would like to join.

Other group participants will be Stacy Sullivan-Gruca, Joyce Mattaliano and Gail Bottone. Books can be purchased on Amazon.com costing about $12, on Kindle at $1.99, and at The Word Among Us Press at about $10. If you need help acquiring a book, please contact Gail at 201-953-1259. If other established groups like Cursillo, the Youth Group, K of C, Cornerstone, etc. would like to meet at different times on their own, please do. “At the very heart of the Gospel is life in community and engagement with others,” said Pope Francis. This event is one way for us at STM to wait together “in joyful hope for the coming of our Savior, Jesus Christ.” Please pray for our success.

Sacred Heart of Jesus and Blessed Virgin

Please join us the 1st Friday and 1st Saturday of each month for the Devotion to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Blessed Virgin Mary following the 9AM Mass.
