What are the options for Faith Formation? Faith Formation at St. Thomas More utilizes the family model for grades 3-6. The family model at our parish involves students coming to class once-a-month on Sunday from October to April with 4 different options to attend. The rest of the program then consists of families attending Mass weekly, completing Family Bible Scripture, and the book work assigned at class.
For grades 1 & 2, Faith Formation utilizes the classroom model on Sunday Mornings.
For grade 8, Faith formation utilizes the classroom model on Wednesday evenings.
Summer Faith Formation is offered for grades 3-7 in August which involves one week of class and 3 workshops. The rest of the program then consists of the same requirements as Fall Family Faith Formation.
How will classes be organized for this year? Grades 1 and 2 will have class once-a-month on a designated Sunday (October 2025 - April 2026). Grades 3-6 will have class once-a-month on Sunday of their choice (October 2025 - April 2026). Grade 7 and 8 will have class once-a-month on a Wednesday night from 7:30pm-8:30pm (October 2025 - April 2026).
If I am unable to pay for registration, is there financial assistant or a payment plan? Yes, the Faith Formation office can offer financial assistance or a payment plan if needed. Every child will receive classes and no child will be denied receiving classes due to economical hardship. Please reach out to our Faith Formation Office, in order to arrange a confidential meeting where the circumstances of the situation can be discussed further.
We are also seeking a few more volunteers to be part of our catechetical team (catechists, catechists aides, outreach volunteers) If a parent is willing to be part of our Faith Formation Team and meet the requirements, we will waive the registration fee for their children. My child receives special education at school. Will there be a way to accommodate my child to class? Yes, the Faith Formation office will accommodate any child who receives special education at school. Please communicate what learning needs your child has during registration in order for the Faith Formation Office to offer the best possible accommodations necessary.
Does my child still need to attend Mass as part of the program? The Holy Mass is the most powerful prayer that we have in our faith. The Holy Mass is where nourish our relationship with God. We encourage all families to attend Mass on Sundays and on Holy Days of Obligation. All students will receive a Mass Card to keep a record of Mass attendance. Students get their Mass card signed at the end of Mass. A parent must assist Mass with the student.

Where can I expect to receives updates and news about the Faith Formation Program (CCD)? It is important for us to have your contact information and email address on file. We will be using this to communicate any changes or updates to each family.
