Reverend James M. Manos, Pastor

Father James Manos was assigned as Pastor of St. Thomas More Church on July 1, 2011.
Before entering the Priesthood he was an Educator and Counselor.
Father James was ordained in 1996 and assigned to the following parishes:
Our Lady of Fatima Church, Newark (Portuguese Apostolate) - Parochial Vicar Holy Spirit Church, Union - Parochial Vicar St. Paul's Church, Ramsey - Parochial Vicar and St. Vincent's dePaul Church, Bayonne - Pastor.

Father James has served as Associate Vocations Director for the Archdiocese of Newark and has also served on the Presbyteral Council for the Archdiocese of Newark.

 

REV. Ward P. Moore, Pastor Emeritus

Fr. Ward graduated from St. Peter's College in Jersey City in 1966, and received a Mastor of Divinity from Immaculate Conception Seminary. Fr. Ward was ordained on May 27, 1972 by Archbishop Thomas Boland in the Cathedral of the Sacred Heart in Newark. His first assignment was at St. Joseph Church in West Orange. Subsequent assignments brought him to Our Lady of Sorrows in South Orange, as pastor of St. Brigid in North Bergen, as pastor of Holy Trinity Church in Hackensack, as pastor of St. Andrew's Parish in Westwood and last as pastor of St. Thomas More Church in Fairfield. Fr. Ward retired in June 2011 and was named Pastor Emeritus of St. Thomas More Church by Archbishop Myers .

Fr. Ward's favorite hobby is golf and he and he has been an avid fan of the New York Giants for many years. He also enjoys reading.

 

REV. EUGENE GNIEWYK, PAROCHIAL VICAR

Father Gene Gniewyk was assigned to St. Thomas More Church in June, 2000. Since his ordination in 1991 he has served at St. Theresa’s Church in Kenilworth and most recently at St. Cassian’s in Montclair. Father Gene is a Newark native, graduated Seton Hall University in 1968, taught at Sacred Heart Cathedral School in Newark and later worked at First Fidelity Bank. He is a graduate of Immaculate Conception Seminary in South Orange.

 

DEACON PATRICK AIDAN KING

Deacon Patrick Aidan King and his wife Kathleen have been residents of Fairfield for many years. Deacon Aidan has a very active liturgical role at St. Thomas More, is involved in the parish Baptismal Preparation Program, and acts as moderator for the Legion of Mary. He also brings Holy Communion to the sick and homebound.

 

DEACON DOMINIC MESSINA

Deacon Dominic Messina and his wife Valerie have two children and one granddaughter. Together they serve on the parish Pre-Cana team. Deacon Dominic is active liturgically assisting at celebrations of the Eucharist and as homilist. He and Valerie are also involved in the Archdiocesan Cursillo Movement.

 

CABRINA KINSLOW, DIRECTOR OF RELIGIOUS EDUCATION

Cabrina Kinslow is a resident of Fairfield with her husband Bill and their 3 sons: Billy, Steven and Danny. After many years of involvement in the parish religious education department, Cabrina is currently Director of Religious Education for children in grades K thru 9. She has a Masters degree in Pastoral Ministry from Caldwell College. Cabrina coordinates all aspects of child formation, sacramental preparation, Liturgy of the Word with children and Vacation Bible School. She also recruits, organizes and trains adult lay catechists. Cabrina works closely in religious education with her assistants Cathy Keegan and Madelyn Link, both members of St. Thomas More Church.

BRAD MICHAEL UCCI

Brad Michael Ucci graduated from William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. He holds a degree in music education with concentrations in organ and voice. Brad also completed coursework through the University of Michigan participating in a study tour of the historic pipe organs of Germany and Austria. In addition to the music degree, he also holds certification as an elementary school teacher.; During his tenure in the public school system, Brad was an honored recipient of the New Jersey Governor’s Teacher Recognition Award. After twenty-seven years of teaching music, mathematics, and language arts to students in elementary and middle school, he retired on July 1, 2011. During his years as a teacher, Brad also worked as an organist and choir director for various parishes in northern New Jersey. Brad holds memberships with the American Guild of Organists, National Association of Pastoral Musicians, and the New Jersey Education Association.

 

COLLEEN VOLANTI, ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT

Colleen Volanti and husband Phil have been residents of Fairfield since 1984. They have 3 sons: Philip, Richard and Anthony. Colleen has worked for St. Thomas More Church for the past 24 years. Her involvement in ministries have included: Catechist for CCD (grades 1-8), Mentoring 8th graders, Pastoral Council, Pre-Cana, Stewardship, Communications, Eucharistic Minister, Bell Choir, Carnival, Cornerstone, and Renew
 

 

BARBARA WEISS, BUSINESS ADMINISTRATOR

Barbara Weiss lives in Fairfield with her husband Roy and their son Michael. Barbara has been the Business Administrator for the past 2 years. Barbara has a B.S. in Accounting and has 14 years of corporate accounting experience. She is responsible for financial and budgetary reporting for the parish.

 

CRAIG JANDOLI, COORDINATOR OF YOUTH MINISTRY

Craig has been serving as our parishes’ youth minister since July 2006. He has a great deal of experience in coordinating youth retreats, and helping teenagers establish a strong personal relationship with Christ. Craig is also one of the speakers for a ministry called Hard As Nails, which travels all over the country and into the Caribbean speaking to teenagers about God. Craig is also a full time Special Education/English Teacher at a high school in Bergen County, NJ. He is passionate about the youth and the power they have to make a great and positive difference in this world.
